I am a designer and illustrator with a desire to innovate and communicate. With a foundation in zines and underground press, print design was an early resource for visual and emotional engagement. I have experienced the industry as the lead pre-press designer at an offset printing business, spent several years as the Art Director for Portland, Oregon weekly the Portland Mercury, and completed a two-year assistantship position at Tyler School of Art, Temple University where I received an MFA in Graphic and Interactive design. Upon returning to Portland, I joined the Portland Spaces team for a new and inspired kind of home, design and gardening magazine. I became the Senior Designer and had the pleasure of working with the indefatigable Art Director, Jason Blackheart. While working with Spaces, I have had the pleasure of styling and directing photo shoots, and cutting my teeth on conceptual editorial illustrations.
I approach design with a sense of humor, a love for communication and a desire for visual clarity and solid concepts. I am looking for new and challenging collaborations.
